Anyone seen one of these, or know what I'm talking about? I play basketball in a weekend league, and the gym where we play has floors that get rather dusty/slippery. When I was in college, I once saw a basketball gym that had this sort of mat, maybe 16 inches by 30 inches, flat, and the top surface was covered with a sticky substance that would rub off the dust and grit from your shoes and leave them with better tread for the gym floor.
Did I dream this? I'd love to buy one now, but I don't know where to get them, or even what they're called to try to find one on-line. It was pretty low-tech, but it was definitely manufactured for this specific purpose - it might even have been made by a shoe company.

Try a construction supply place.

What can i do to put more traction in my basketball shoes? They just slip and slide all over the place.?
my basketball shoes are about a year old and they have lost almost all traction. Im gonna go buy somo new ones but I hav'nt had time to go buy them because of exams etc. and I have a basketball game today so I need to put some traction into these old ones. Is there anything I can do to prevent them from slipping around the floor?

my shoes still has grooves in the sole. how come its slippery in the basketball court? anything i can do about it? some people said stepping on soda liquid before the game makes it sticky.

Why does the price between "big kids" sized basketball shoes and regular baskbetball shoes differ so much?
the same basketball shoes that costs more then $100 are usually $60 if you got them for "big kids" sizes.

Finding basketball shoes depends on what you think is comfortable. You need to make sure they fit nicely or they'll blister your feet. I personally love Nike basketball shoes because they're comfortable and they protect my ankles (I have bad ankles). It all just depends on what you like.

Finding basketball shoes depends on what you think is comfortable. You need to make sure they fit nicely or they'll blister your feet. I personally love Nike basketball shoes because they're comfortable and they protect my ankles (I have bad ankles). It all just depends on what you like.

Hey, i have gone through 2 pairs of shoes in the last couple of months. My first pair, sorry i couldn't tell you what type of And 1's they were but they were a pair of high cut And 1's. They started giving me really bad blisters they were size 8. Then i recieved a pair of RBK Iversons. They were good for a couple of games and training sessions, until when ever i stopped for a couple of minutes. They started to feel like my bones had artheritis or something. it was really weird. And now i am in need of a good pair of basketball shoes. I am likeing the Nike Vandals Low cut, but i havnt ever been able to play or train in a pair of them. Could you please tell me what type of shoes. Oh i am also liking the Nike Zoom Air BB Low cut shoes. I Think "Steve Nash" wears them.

Reply:i recently bought a good pair of and1 slice mid cuts and they are really comfertable but i am yet to play in them as the new season has not yet started. i used 2 have a really good pair of nike force's. they were blue with a strap at the bottom of where the laces start. i had them for about 3-4 seasons and i was really suprised they wernt worn out. they were really good with how long they will last. about $130 (australia). its good to see your interested in what shoes the pros wear in the nba but there are plenty of good long lasting shoes out there that they dont wear.

If you need arch support, if you are not properly aligned... etc. If you do not wear the correct shoes for your body, you are more prone to injury and anytime a "feature" is needed the cost will inevitably be higher. Not all injuries are instant either. Some develop over a period of time. Your shoes can have an effect on your feet, ankles, knees, back, and neck. I think good shoes are worth the investment if they will prevent injury.
