How can I choose the right basketball shoes?

Can you help me choose the right basketball shoes? For example, adidas or nike created shoes for specific position: point guard, shooting guard, forward, center... so which shoes fit me if I'm a guard?

i understand what you are going through. in basketball i play point guard, guard. and i was roaming around for basketball also. and i had a bought a pair of high-tops (Nike). but first what you have to do is look for a style that you like. but whatever you do its the best to buy high-tops. then after having someone bring it out, try them on. i prefer Nike, walk in them and how do you feel. it all depends on you not on anyone else. OK? i had broke my shoes in then played my first game in them, and they were fine. they were very comfortable. you need high-tops in order for it to protect your ankles. for guard you need something comfortable, because you move so much that foot might twist a little. so be careful on which one you choose. choose carefully! g'luk!

Reply:Only suggestion i would check out what the pro's have. Usually its sponsorship but if they didn't like them they wouldn't wear them... But don't forget the eq(Equipment) doesn't make the man, his skill does...

Reply:The shoes have to be comfortable for you when running, jumping, pivoting, and for doing any and all moves that you do when playing basketball. For me, Team Jordan's have worked pretty good, but everyone has a different preference. Just remember that the looks have nothing to do with the performance of the shoe.
Reply:depends on your budget, i usually play in my jordans' but thats me I feel I can play better with them but like the guy said the shoes dont make the man the skills do..
