Are Basketball shoes good for running miles in?

Well i have to run a two miles tommorrow, since I lost my running shoes I%26#039;ve been useing my skating shoes. So I thought would Basketball shoes be better for running miles? Please Answer

Are Basketball shoes good for running miles in?
No, not really, because as the other people said, basketball shoes are made especially for basketball. They don%26#039;t have the same support for your foot and ankle as running shoes do. It can make your feet hurt a lot or give you really bad blisters if you run to far in them.

I have to admit that running in basketball shoes is better than running in skating shoes though.
Reply:To put it simply... Basketball shoes are good for basketball. Running shoes are good for running.
Reply:Basketball shoes are meant to cushion certain parts of your foot and keep you stable. Running shoes have more support. A running shoe is typically good for running about 300 miles, not for jumping in. Basketball shoes cushion different parts of your foot, for jumping up and sprinting and turning quickly. Long term effects of not wearing the right shoes could be shin splints, arch pain in your foot, really PAINFUL blisters (I have lots of scars) and other problems with your feet and legs. I would recommend getting good running shoes if you are going to be doing it often. Although skating shoes are even worse! Hope my advice helped
