How do you prevent stinky basketball shoes?

Throughout the use of my previous pair of basketball shoes, I%26#039;ve noticed a strong odor seeping from the shoes. Every time I put on the shoes, I would have to wash my fingers because of the lingering scent.

I%26#039;ve recently bought a new pair of basketball shoes and I was hoping to prevent the smelliness this time around. Any hints?

I%26#039;ve been told that since I wear low cut socks, the sweat from my feet/legs can still be absorbed by the fabrics of my shoes. As a result, would wearing higher cut socks necessarily help?

What up Kevin C,

i think you need to get some %26quot;odor eaters%26quot;. That%26#039;s probably the best solution. Higher cut socks still does not prevent the shoe from absorbing sweat. i would get some odor eaters and just put them in your shoes.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Reply:There are a number of things you can do to prevent this, as other users have suggested try Odor Eaters or you could go for something more old fashioned like Bi-Carb sodor. I%26#039;m sure that there a whole aisle dedicated to things like this in a supermarket so it shouldn%26#039;t be hard to prevent the smell.
Reply:odor eaters, foot powder, air your shoes out at night, air your feet out as much as possible and have your feet checked you may have athletes foot.
Reply:Definetely after you take them off put them outside to air out till the next time you put them on
Reply:wear thick socks
